Smart detector system for concrete building structures

Smart detector system for concrete building structures

Description:

The construction industry grapples with ongoing challenges related to weak and vulnerable concrete structures, a situation compounded by the dangerous nature of commercial fraud in building practices.
Many of us have encountered various forms of commercial fraud, but when it involves buildings, the risks are particularly severe.
This project aims to address these issues by introducing an innovative smart detection system designed to identify weaknesses in concrete building structures.
The system utilizes a robot that assesses the iron content within the building and detects cracks in the walls, thereby contributing significantly to improving structural integrity and safety.

Objectives:

Enhance Safety and Integrity: Develop a smart detection system to improve the safety and structural integrity of concrete buildings.
Metal Detection and Compliance: Utilize a metal detector sensor to measure and compare the metal percentage in structures with the Saudi Building Code, ensuring compliance and identifying weaknesses.
Efficient Scanning Mechanism: Implement a 3D-printed arm and robot body to facilitate smooth movement of the sensor through walls and achieve comprehensive scanning.
Obstacle Avoidance: Equip the robot with ultrasonic sensors to navigate and avoid obstacles during operation.
Mobile Application Control: Create a mobile application with a full control interface that allows for both autonomous and manual operation modes.
Code Updates and Comparisons: Enable users to add and modify Saudi Building Code information within the application, and compare data received from the robot with the building code to assess the building’s compliance and safety.
